How to Choose Social Media Platform for your Business?

Let’s start with the question – Why is your Business should be visible on Social Media Platform/s?

The answer is simple, to attract as much attention as possible, that will eventually turn into sales and customers.

If this part seems obvious to you, then the next part will be super technical and it will allow you to choose the correct Social Media Platform for your business, to save your precious time and money.

In order to understand which social media platform to choose, you need to look at them as they were products, let’s say – dresses, that you are buying in the store. Each dress is different in color, size, and material. The same thing happens with Social Media Platforms, they are used for different purposes, by different people, at different times and locations.

Considering these facts, the next step for you is to Define Your Ideal Customer. Here is what you should know:

  • Location – what country are they from? If in your case it is possible to have clients from anywhere in the world, then just concentrate on 2 or 3 countries for starters.
  • Gender  – this one is easy, you only have 2 options.
  • Age – divide it into groups, 18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54,55-64, 65+
  • Relationship status – Married, single, and so on
  • Interest – what is he or she interested in? For example, Fitness and Lifting weight.
  • Behavior – do you think there is going to be any specific behavior for your ideal customer? Like, such as picture posting online on a daily basis or event organization for a living, or anything else that might be worth looking at.

Another thing that you should consider is Content Creation.
Each platform has its own specific content type, and it’s impossible to produce ALL of it at the same time.

Content types on Social Media Platforms:

  • Image – taken by a phone or camera
  • Designed Images – created with the help of a graphic design tool or by a graphic designer.
  • Video – taken by phone and/or edited by phone
  • Video – high-quality video (not from phone)
  • Text content

Some content types are easier to create than others, some content types take more time to be created than others. All of these factors should be considered before you’ll start investing your time and money into a social media platform.

The important thing to remember here is that CONSISTENCY is the key to growing your brand awareness on any platform.
